Diabetes Types in Ayurveda

According to Ayurveda, there are twenty forms of Prameha: four types caused by vata, six caused by pitta, and ten caused by Kapha. Madhumeha, a subtype of Prameha, is distinguished by sweet urine and is associated with diabetes.
In Ayurveda, there are primarily two forms of Prameha:

Avarana

Avarana is caused by a restriction in the channels' courses, according to Ayurveda. The obstruction might be due to exacerbated Kapha. This results in adult-onset diabetes. Dhatukshaya, on the other hand, refers to the depletion of tissues in the body. This can result in juvenile diabetes.

Aside from that, Ayurveda regards digestion as a critical function. The digestive fire, known as Agni, must be in good functioning order for the digestive system to function properly. If this digestive fire is weak (due to Dosha imbalance or other factors), it might lead to a variety of ailments. It causes an accumulation of toxins, which might interfere with the body's regular functioning. It can also damage the immune system, making the body unable of fighting infections and illnesses.

However, due to diabetes, people may be oblivious to the signs. This is caused by an excess of blood sugar. There have been several reports of people having a minor heart attack and being unaware of it due to high diabetes levels. As a result, it is critical to maintaining blood sugar levels under control.

Diabetes Types and Their Causes

Diabetes can be caused by a variety of factors. Here is a list of some of the most prevalent diabetes causes.
Type 1 Diabetes Causes

The underlying etiology of type 1 diabetes is unknown. In this case, the immune system may begin targeting the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. As a result, the body's insulin levels might plummet significantly.
The rise in the blood sugar level of the body. Type 1 diabetes is thought to be caused by a combination of predisposition and environmental factors. Being overweight, on the other hand, is not thought to be a cause of type 1 diabetes.

Aside from that, type 1 diabetes is caused by a lack of insulin synthesis. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas (gland). It helps in lowering the blood sugar levels in the body. When blood sugar levels are high, the pancreas secretes more insulin to keep the sugar level stable. Insulin secretion decreases in diabetic patients. As a result, blood sugar levels rise.

So, the primary cause of diabetes is a shortage of insulin production. There are, however, other disorders that might cause this syndrome.
Type 2 Diabetes Causes

Diabetes type 2 can develop from prediabetes. In this state, however, your cells may develop resistance to insulin and its activities. Furthermore, because the pancreas cannot produce insulin, your body may struggle to overcome this resistance.

While the exact etiology of type 2 diabetes is unknown, the illness is thought to arise due to hereditary and environmental factors. In contrast to type 1 diabetes, being overweight is a major cause of type 2 diabetes. Although not every patient of type of diabetes is obese and overweight.
Gestational Diabetes Causes

During pregnancy, the human body generates hormones that keep the pregnancy going. These hormones harden your cells. In most cases, our pancreas generates enough insulin to overcome resistance.

However, your pancreas may not be able to keep up. The quantity of glucose entering your cells decreases under such circumstances. This causes gestational diabetes.
